As the presidential election is getting closer, people have to start making their decisions on who they really want to be elected. On the republican side, there has been a lot of confusion about who would be their best candidate. However, Ted Cruz and John Kasich have recently dropped out of the election. This makes Donald Trump the only candidate for the Republican Party. Although this doesn’t necessarily mean that he’s the automatic republican nominee, it does increase his chances.
Once Ted Cruz lost in Indiana to Donald Trump, he decided that he had to drop out for his benefit. If Cruz had won Indiana, he most likely would have still been in the election. However, since he didn’t, this also lead John Kasich to drop out. With two other candidates when Cruz was still in the campaign, Kasich thought that he may have had at least a little chance. After Cruz dropped out, this left only Kasich and Trump. Kasich knew that he wouldn’t win against Trump, so he thought that it was a sign and, therefore, dropped out.

Migrants Stranded in Greece
http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-36152447
This article titled, ” Migrant crisis: Stranded in Greece,” is about how many migrants are no longer coming into Greece after the agreement made between Turkey and Eu. Turkey and Eu decided to close Europe’s borders and decrease the amount of immigrants because there are more than 50,000 that are causing them to have bad economic problems. There is one camp in Greece called Moria in Lesbos that migrants remain stuck on the island and the conditions in the camp are horrible where they have to wait in line for hours for food and their is constant fighting going on between them and the island’s natives. There are young children who’s parents came to Greece for a better life who are trapped on this island in this camp who are struggling to survive such as a young girl named Blessing. These migrants are trapped in this camp that is not built to house so many people and cannot leave the island. There is another camp nearby called the Kara Tepe that has a lot better living conditions and migrants are aloud to leave it, but cannot leave the island of Lesbos. These migrants should remain at a place where they can start their journey and make a living for themselves while being taken care of , so that when they are ready to leave they can have a better life for their families without being judged about their beliefs. This agreement should be stopped because it is making innocent people suffer when there is easier options to fix the problem. These migrants deserve to have human dignity and should be treated justly because they are only trying to get away from others who are trying to hurt them due to their beliefs.
Should the Government Cut Jobs?
I just read a pretty interesting article on how most government jobs are disappearing. The article talks about a little town in called Pineville,LA where a old lunch room government worker gives a tour about how this towns people couldn’t afford to live here. They said once they abandoned the town they try asking the government for jobs. But soon a man named Bobby Jindal came into office in Louisiana. He promised small-government-and-ethics platform, promising to modernize the state and unleash the power of American private industry along the Gulf Coast. He quotes “I’ve laid off more of them than Trump has fired people,” he said, “and I’ve cut my state’s budget by more than he’s worth.” Is this a good thing for our country.
I believe this would harm the United States if we cut several government jobs. We need basic government jobs to keep a community together. If one government community job or center goes out of business the whole cookie crumbles. I feel that each community has a hospital, police center, and fire department it has the basic government jobs. In my opinion the government is the backbone to the American society and it is their job to help citizens get jobs to keep America from falling under the ice.
Abortion in Europe: Most Doctors Won’t End Pregnancies in Italy -NBC News
In Italy, Poland, and other countries in Catholic Europe, legal abortions are often a struggle to receive. These countries guarantee the right of doctors to conscientious objection. This allows them to deny abortion services based on a belief in their immorality. Most younger doctors and doctors in rural areas claim conscientious objection. Only a small minority of hospitals and doctors will perform abortions. Due to the law which limits abortion to the first 90 days of a pregnancy, women who want to have abortions but cannot find the rare doctor who performs abortions within those 90 days must give birth to their children. Any women who break these laws are charged a fine between 5,000 and 10,000 Euros.
In Italy especially these pro-life attitudes come from the immense power the Vatican wields in Italy. As the Catholic Church’s headquarters, Roman politics are often dominated by his Holiness Pope Francis and other senior Church officials. These beliefs against abortion are often predominant in religiously Catholic countries such as Poland, the birthplace of former Pope St. John Paul II. A poll in Poland found only a third of the population supported legal on-demand abortion. The country currently only allows abortion in limited situations. Meanwhile in Ireland abortion is only legal when the life of the mother is in danger, and in Northern Ireland women who receive illegal abortions can be jailed for life.
While abortion is a moral evil changing the law to make it illegal is an uphill battle both here and overseas. Instead we should make sure that abortions are safe and attempt to slowly change cultural attitudes toward abortion in the United States. We should also guarantee the right of doctors to refuse to perform abortions. I support fining women for illegal abortions to prevent unsafe abortions and decrease legal abortion use. We should also care for women during their pregnancy. We can do this by increasing centers for pregnancy crisis and by making sure that all employed women having paid maternity leave to care for their children while they are young.
I chose this article because the abortion debate is often central to political campaigns in the United States. I think this could be a non partisan issue. If we come together to defend life both before and after birth we can finally end this partisan bickering over stupid issues like gay marriage and transgenders in our bathrooms.
Email Privatization
Congress has recently passed a bill privatizing old emails. Talks between a person’s privacy and the well being of our country have been in and out of debates lately. We have seen this discussions roar on with topics such as the Apple vs. The F.B.I. battle over whether or not to unlock the phone of the San Bernardino terrorists. As I have previously stated, a person’s emails, texts, or whatever it may be, are personal and should be looked at by only them. Although if a judge grants permission for a check into a person’s information so be it.
We have seen the scandals that have arisen from Presidential candidate Hilary Clinton and her emails. She has been accused of sending top secret emails through a personal, non exclusive email account. Emails are a big part of our technology favoring world. It is important that we take a person’s right into consideration and then decide whether or not it is morally just to look into someone’s personal information, within just cause.
Getting back to Congress, they passed the bill concerned with privatizing emails and I think that they did a fine job at meeting the expectations of the people with this bill. It is incredibly important for our politicians to do the best they can to represent the people after all that’s is their job.
Poll Results
A couple of days ago, the Republican nominees( Donald Trump, John Kasich, and Ted Cruz), got the poll results for the states of Connecticut, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Rhode Island. As surprising to some, but not toward others, Donald Trump won all five states. It also appears that more people are supporting Kassich than Cruz, because John seemed to do better than him in the polls, however Cruz has more delegates. According to oregonlive.com, it says Donald Trump has 949 delegates, Ted Cruz has 544 and John Kasich has 153. 1,237 delegates are needed to win the nomination. As you can see, Trump is in the lead by a wide margin. My personal view is that I think Trump will be the nominee and defeat both Cruz and Kassich, however if he doesn’t get enough delegates, the Republican Party might elect someone else to represent for their side, because I think he will loose to Hilary if he is the nominee.

Super Tuesday and what this means for Bernie Sanders
Super Tuesday just passed and the results were shocking. There were five states and Bernie Sanders won only one state. Trump of course dominated and won all five states. This is bad news for Bernie because he hit a rough patch. As of now the tunnel is getting smaller and smaller for him. Even though I’m a supporter, I believe that he will not win the primary, forget the presidency. Trump is going to win unfortunately, but it will be interesting to see what he actually does during his presidency, I mean that in the most negative terms i can think of. My guess is that he gets impeached.
Let’s focus more on Bernie. He announced recently that he was making some changes in his campaign. The New York Times stated, “Mr. Sanders said he would scale back his upstart bid for the White House and lay off hundreds of campaign workers, a measure seemingly intended to extend the life of his candidacy but not to prepare for a general election. In an interview, Mr. Sanders acknowledged in the strongest terms yet that Hillary Clinton’s delegate lead might have closed off his path to the nomination, and he was less combative toward his party’s front-runner in his moment of apparent defeat, taking a tone of cold realism, if not quite resignation.” This is a smart idea considering the situation he is in. He needs to take dramatic measures and to do this he needs to save his money to continue his campaign. He needs to start winning more states and this next state, Indiana, is key for his election. With this he will gain confidence and hopefully rally up the citizens of the United States to vote for him. I fear that the Bern will fade away.
In conclusion, many people ask me why I support Sanders because he is a socialist. I say many hard-working citizens don’t get the chance to go to college simply for the fact that they can’t afford it. He will provide free college for everyone and let’s not forget to mention free healthcare for all. Many people say he is taking valuable money form citizens, but I believe that there will always be taxes and we should know that they are being put to good use. Feel the Bern 2016.

Decreasing work hours in Venezuela to help save energy
Currently, Venezuela is having a drought which means they need to save their energy. As the people of Venezuela were coming up with ways they can achieve their goal of saving energy, they came across an interesting one. This idea was that they should cut down their work week to only 2 days. This has been going on since Tuesday. The workers go into their jobs on Mondays and Tuesday and after that, they have off until their next working time. Not only are the work hours decreasing, but so are the school hours. On Fridays, primary schools will not be in session.
Although this is a temporary change, I do feel that it may seem unfair to some people because they may not be able to work and earn the money they need. On the other hand, this will lead to a better lifestyle for the people living in Venezuela in the long run because they will have a better supply of energy. This isn’t going to be something that lasts forever so the positive effects might be able to outway the negative ones in this situation.

Transgender men/women and public restrooms
Nathan Wellman recently published an article based upon an article that went viral. The video was of a police officer forcing a transgender women out of a women’s bathroom. Many people take different stances on this, nevertheless I believe that it’s based on perspective. People have to take j to consideration other people’s views. I’m not saying that they can’t be transgender, but they can’t forget that people will judge them and it will be hard to transition. Especially in situations like this, it could be embarrassing for them. I think it’s great transgender men and women are living them true selves but they can’t forget about society.
I feel extremely bad for the people going through the judgement, but I think it’s awkward for others too. Maybe others in the bathroom. It all depends on perspective, since so many people take different stands. I think for this to stop the governess and people of authority have to make official rules based upon these situations and people.
Music
There are different ways that people let out their feelings or reduce stress. Some turn to rage or violence while others turn to music. Music may actually be more than just a catchy beat. “Music has the ability to quickly shift our mood, affecting our subconscious mind where pesky negative thoughts feed on our fears and fuel the fires of stress.” Musicians can play or sing notes that pertain to their emotional state. Different genres of music express the emotions and important events that affect the lives of people. Some music lyrics are so strong that others connect with the song on an emotional level. This is how singers and songwriters’ songs reach the top of charts. Singers are people who express their opinions and beliefs for the word to hear in a different ay than speeches or protests. “If you want to take the positive effects of listening to music to another level, try singing. Singing is one of the best ways to shift the vibrations of our thoughts and the very cells of our body, helping slow and regulate breathing and promote relaxation.”
I believe that singing is a better way to relive stress than turning to violence. Music has send very important messages to people in the past. Such as when great artists gathered together and recorded the song, “We are the World.” This sent a message of hope and care to people everywhere. The song “Do They Know It’s Christmas,?” is a song that raised money for people in Africa. This song was later recreated in 2014, when people with ebola needed our help. This song helped cure people with ebola with everyone who listened to it and purchased it. Music can be an act of kindness such as the message of these songs and many more that spread hope or raised money for good causes. Along with being part of charity donations, it brings people together. “The key to playing music for fun and relaxation is to be sure all the participants agree that the main purpose is for everyone to enjoy themselves and the music making process, so there is no competition or fear of being judged. There is a kind of shorthand communication and physiologically entrainment that can take place when people play music or sing together.”
